It’s July!!!

July 4th has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love parades and fireworks. Red, White, and Blue are some of my favorite colors, especially paired together.

This holiday also marks the beginning of summer. I know, I know, summer officially starts in mid-June, but to me, July 4th is the day.

Today I took Gabe to the store with me. While we were there I picked up some treats… Here he is, eating his first popsicle!

Summer of 2009 is off to a good start!

In other news, Ryan has been battling an umbilical hernia for several months. It finally got bad enough that he got the surgery. He’s resting up this week; in a fair amount of pain, but is already doing much better than I expected him to after just 2 days! He’s not allowed to lift over 8lbs for 4 weeks, so no wrestling or playing with Gabe. The poor little guy is having a hard time understanding why Daddy can’t play, but he is full of kisses and hugs to cheer Daddy up!

A New Photo

Last night we attended a graduation party for a friend’s son. the theme was a formal dinner party and everyone was dressed up for the candlelit dinner. It was really special!

Due to Gabe’s terrible behavior at the party, Ryan and I were both wore out and didn’t feel like doing pictures… so, all I have it one I snapped of myself in the mirror. I don’t have my black jacket/shrug on for the picture, but I like the dress a lot, so I thought I’d share it… :-)

Thanks to Morgan, who found this dress for $7 at a thrift store, bought, and sent it to me!!

What’s Going On Around Here?

Well, for starters, I’m itching my skin off. Or, I feel like I need to, but I’m resisting. Poison ivy is no fun. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a shot for it. I’ve had it worse than this before, but not near my face. I’m not a huge fan of itchy rashes on my face, so I decided to get the shot to stop the spread before it got near my eyes!

Gabe Rides a TractorOn a more exciting and cuter note, Gabe is growing up. I’m so proud of him. He’s sleeping in his big boy bed at night! When Vicki’s family gets home from their trip we’ll return the crib and changing table so he’ll have more space in his room. I’ll also return the bin-unit all his toys are in since he’s getting a new one that’s Cars themed! (thanks to a site I’m affiliated with that is partnered with companies that want reviews for their products) This new set is a combo… Toy box on the bottom, 1 row of bins, and then a bookshelf on top. I think it will work so much better since he needs a space to put big things like balls and larger trucks, and he’s going to need a bookshelf once the changing table is gone.

He thinks he’s just so big. When he wakes up in the morning and he can just walk right out of his room you can see the pride on his face. It’s adorable!

The weather has just been gorgeous the past 2 weeks. We’ve spent a LOT of time outside. In fact, we’ve all gotten tans. After about 2 days in the sun Gabe noticed his and came up to me, holding one of his arms out and pointing with the other hand: “Look, Mommy, I ORANGE!!!” He wasn’t red at all, so I’m guessing he meant tan or brown. lol

We’ve just celebrated Susan and Joel’s birthdays. Two weekends of birthday celebration, one right after the other! It makes me sad to think we don’t have any more birthdays till Ron’s and then mine in July. It’s just so much fun to spend time together, eating, playing games, etc. :-)

Ryan’s still working on his truck every spare moment he gets. It’s wonderful for him to have a project to mess with in the evenings. I love to watch and Gabe likes to help.

I’m still doing tons of web work. Some new clients, some repeat folks. I love it!
